Holiday (& Other) Readathons to Check Out
Readathons are a great way to have fun with the book community, whether it be reading for a day, a week, or even a month! If you need some help making your TBR pile smaller I suggest participating so you can virtually read with many others who are trying to finish off their books before the new year!
#aFairytaleathon - Every round that is held will have a set of challenges and/or group reads centered around fairytale retellings! Round 2 has yet to be announced, but will take place some time in Winter 2018 so it’s a good time to join in! To get a better idea of how it’s run watch their announcement video from their first event. | Hosted by A Bear and a Bee Books and other co-hosts listed under the video description.
#BiannualBibliothon - This one is pretty self explanatory, it's a biannual readathon with both reading and video challenges! | Hosted by Zarriah, Brittni, Catriona, Momo, Red, Dylan, and Kassie. The Winter Biannual Bibliothon will take place January 12th - 18th, 2019. The live show for the group book will be on Saturday, January 19th and timing is TBA.
#ContemporaryAThon - For reading all the contemporary books! | Hosted by @according2jewls and @chelseadolling. The last one was held in mid September 2018 over on Chelsea’s BookTube.

#Magical Readathon - Dedicated to reading magical books with many prompts all inspired by Harry Potter! | Hosted by Book Roast over on BookTube. The next one takes place from December 16th - 26th, 2018 with 12 readathon prompts and you can find out more by watching Book Roast’s announcement video!
#Readathin - A readathon dedicated to thinning out your TBR pile (we all could probably use this tbh). | Hosted by @courtofbooklove, @jescamarie493, and @deuces_x. It seems as if they hold a readathon daily which are held by a different host every day - you can find the rest of the co-hosts here.
#TheReadingRush formerly known as #BookTubeAthon - BookTubeAthon was originally a readathon that held challenges periodically for people on BookTube, but recently it has underwent a transformation into The Reading Rush where they just achieved getting the funding to create a website for readers to join in an online book community.
