How to Beat the Winter Blues | SAD
I’ve put together a simple list of things to help prevent or lessen the effects of SAD over these dreary cold months of winter. So if you’ve started to feel a little off - like not being as motivated or inspired this is a great post to delve into.
If you don’t know what SAD is, it’s Seasonal Affective Disorder (also known as Seasonal Depression). Due to the weather and climate changes that come with the winter months, some people are prone to getting SAD because of the lack of Vitamin D which comes from less sunlight being soaked into the skin which is more easily done in the warmer months. This puts people into kind of a funk that came seem hard to shake, but more times than not improves and/or goes away once Spring-like weather comes back into their area.
Please note I am not a medical provider or representative, if you’re feeling extremely down or having trouble with day to day life I recommend you make an appointment with a medical professional or therapist. These are just tips to help us trudge along this dark part of the year. <3
